Giving the Gift of Guidance
What is it that we as public relations professionals can provide non-profit organizations this holiday season that will help them thrive?
Some might say donations, but money is the first to run out. Some might say time, but we all have so little of that. The answer is guidance. If we can provide non-profits with a public relations strategy, they will be able to fundraise, recruit volunteers and build a foundation for the future.
Provide your gift of guidance and join us for this special luncheon as we provide public relations counsel to six selected local non-profits.
This award-winning annual service project matches representatives from pre-selected qualifying non-profit organizations with PR pros to develop a mini-PR plan. PR professionals spend one hour consulting with the non-profit organization representative about fine-tuning media messages, planning social events and developing basic public relations plans. This working lunch allows PRSA members to give back to the community by sharing a special gift that only they can give – their expertise.
It’s PRSA’s way of supporting charities and other organizations who contribute so much to our community.
Be sure to arrive by 11:30 a.m. so that you can network with representatives from the non-profit organizations. We will begin promptly.

About Giving the Gift of Guidance
This award-winning annual service project was first developed by chapter leaders in the 1990s. Representatives of qualifying non-profit organizations are matched with PRSA members and spend the whole meeting in December developing a mini-PR plan. PR professionals spend one hour consulting with a non-profit organization representative about fine-tuning media messages, planning social events and developing basic public relations plans. This working lunch allows PRSA members to give back to the community by sharing a special gift that only they can give – their expertise.
It’s PRSA’s way of supporting charities and other organizations who contribute so much to our community. The non-profit representatives are also PRSA’s guests for lunch.
Non-profit organizations without dedicated public relations or marketing funds are given first consideration for the program, but all non-profit organizations are invited to apply every year.
